You too can become Divine

You should learn to love everyone like how a mother loves her child. Then you are either becoming divine or have already become divine.

Normally, what do you do? You feel love only towards those favorable to you. You don’t feel love towards others. When we see those whom we favor approaching us, our face becomes radiant and we exclaim, “Welcome, Welcome!”. If a person whom we dislike is nearby, we turn our face away. The same face – but displays two different reactions to two different people. It is that which has not made you divine yet. Learn to treat everyone alike. Good people, bad people, those who have done good for you, those who have caused you harm – you should learn to treat everyone alike. If you can do that, then it means you have become divine. People will start worshipping you and you will have a temple in your name. But you have to develop this quality.

Without possessing this trait, you will not be able to place the next step in your spiritual journey, despite any number of mantras you chant, any amount of penance you do and any number of pilgrimages you make.

God has never been concealed. Suppose, there is a veil over God. Rama, Buddha, Jesus, withdrew the veil. Then you should have seen God. But it was not visible to you. Therefore, the veil was never over God. The veil was on Jesus, he withdrew it – perceived God. The veil was on Mohammed Nabi, he withdrew it and perceived God. The veil was on Buddha, he withdrew it and perceived God. The veil was on me, I withdrew it and am perceiving God. What I’m telling you is this – “The veil is on you. God is present here. Withdraw your veil and perceive God. I will help you unveil.” This is Spirituality.

The veil is on you. In order to withdraw the veil of illusion, there are some ingredients you must develop. You have to be loving towards everyone. You should discard anger and hatred. You should develop patience. You should discard selfishness and partiality.

You should become like the air we breathe. So many people are seated here. The air passes through everyone’s nostrils. It does not discriminate based on a person’s virtues. It passes through everyone’s nostrils without any bias or judgment. If you can become thus, it means you are divine. The atmosphere is divine.

The river flows. Does it say, “You can bath here, but you shouldn’t” and arise and create an uproar? Anyone can bathe there. If you can become like the river, then it means you are divine.

The rain pours down. It pours on the fields, it pours in the drains, it pours into the rivers. It does not frame rules saying, “This is a drain, I will not pour here”. It pours down uniformly. You should become like that. You should learn to be the same towards everybody. If you can become like the rain, it means you are divine.

In all of God’s creations, it is we who are the most intelligent. Yet, it is only mankind that has not reformed. How noble is the rain! How noble is the air! How noble is the river! But see how selfish man is!

The cloud does not rain for itself
The gentle breeze does not blow for itself
The river does not flow for itself
Man alone lives for himself.

Does nature bill you? Does it ask anything of you? But we alone have a reason and a motive for doing anything. There has to be some opportunity or benefit for us in it. Otherwise, we will not do it. It is when we develop the trait of impartiality that we can become divine. That is the characteristic of Spirituality.

I am also one like you. I was born to a school teacher’s family in North Arcot District. Look at me today! Now I am able to render service to any extent. By my life I have proved that such a divine state is possible. Attempt it. You too can become divine.
